Questions, answered
What does 'most compatible country' mean?
It is the country whose approximate profile sits closest to your answers across the axes the quiz measures. Here that means 12 axes: six on values, such as the economy and tradition, and six on lifestyle, such as climate, pace and budget. It is a fun way to see which places line up with how you think and live, not a verdict on any country.
How is my match % calculated?
Each axis gets a score from 0 to 100: 50 plus 25 times the average of your two answers on it. The quiz then measures the weighted distance between your scores and each country's, using the values/lifestyle slider to split the weight, and turns that into a %: 100 means identical positions and 0 means as far apart as possible. If two countries tie, the one with the smaller single biggest gap ranks higher.
Is this the 12 Axes quiz?
No. This is an independent quiz with no link to 12 Axes or any other political quiz. The axes, the statements and the country profiles are all our own, and the quiz adds lifestyle axes that political quizzes don't measure, so your results will not match another quiz's.
Why is my top country one I've never considered?
The quiz only compares positions on 12 axes, so it can surface places you never thought about. A country you know well may match you on climate but differ on pace or budget. Open the Why you match panel to see the axes doing the work, and use the slider to see how the ranking shifts when values or lifestyle count for more.
Can I do the quiz with a partner or friend?
Yes. The couples page has a duo mode: Person A answers, then Person B answers on the same device. Countries are ranked by the lower of your two match %s, both %s are shown, and you see the three axes where you differ most.
How are the country profiles decided?
Each of the 60 countries has an editorial, approximate position on every axis, based on typical public policy and everyday social norms rather than the government of the day or any party. Positions are country-wide, so they don't capture differences between cities and the countryside. If you think one is off, tell us.
Is my data saved or sent anywhere?
No. There is no login and no backend. Your answers and progress stay in your browser. The share link stores your answers in the link itself, so only people you send it to can open your results. The share image is drawn on your device.
Is this advice on where to move?
No. The quiz is for fun and reflection, not immigration, legal or financial advice. A high match can be a starting point for reading more, but visas, work rights, healthcare and cost of living need checking with official sources.
